Beyond the classroom at Westbrook House Prep School
As well as pursuing academic success during the day, we feel that it is just as important to offer our students here at Westbrook House a broad spectrum of opportunities ‘beyond the classroom’. That’s why when lessons finish, the fun continues! We offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities throughout the school week. Whilst the more sporting minded might be found taking a wicket on the cricket pitch or serving an ace on the tennis court, budding young dancers have the opportunity to learn tap and modern dance moves from a qualified dance instructor. For the more artistically inclined there is also the chance to learn new skills in the applied and creative arts, where pupils are able to develop their interest in a broad range of crafts including basketry, jewellery making and knitting, turning their imaginative designs into reality.

All our parents are warmly invited to join with the whole school family at our fun and lively school assembly on Friday morning. The assembly is led by Mr Washington-Jones, but is child-centred and gives children the opportunity to stand up and speak confidently in public. This provides a great opportunity to reward individual achievement and help the children develop confidence by performing in front of the school. Frequent special visitors include Rev Anthony Buckley from St Johns Anglican Church in Folkestone, and our Chairman of Governors, Roger De Haan. The Friday assembly also gives new and existing parents a chance to meet and chat informally over a cup of coffee.
